Healthy people need healthy connections. Human connection is a powerful driver of health, wellbeing, trust, and community resilience. Across healthcare, public health, policy, and community systems, leaders are seeing the impacts of loneliness, isolation, burnout, and disconnection.

GenWell helps health-sector leaders and teams understand social health and apply a connection lens to the programs, services, spaces, and policies that shape people’s everyday lives.

Disconnection is not just a personal issue. It is a public health issue. Social isolation and loneliness are linked to poorer mental and physical health, lower trust, reduced participation, and increased pressure on systems and services.

At the same time, health-sector teams are navigating burnout, complexity, and growing community need. Strengthening connection can support both the people being served and the people doing the work.

This interactive session introduces participants to the science of social health and explores practical ways to strengthen human connection across health and community settings. Participants will explore:

Why social health matters alongside physical and mental health
How loneliness, isolation, and disconnection show up in communities and systems
The role of connection in prevention, trust, belonging, and resilience
How to apply a connection lens to existing programs, services, spaces, and policies
Simple actions that can help people feel more welcomed, supported, and connected
